Webinars for Animal Rights

Webinars for Animal Rights

One reason why I love webinars is because they are an excuse to say the word “webinar“.

Aside from that, they allow us to learn about our particular interest, all from the comfort of our own home. In the throes of the Internet age, webinars can be really useful tools — both for activists who wish to participate in one in order to increase their effectiveness, or for those of us who may wish to organize and lead a webinar.

As for me, I want to do both — eventually, anyway …

One  upcoming webinar that looks particularly interesting (as well as free) is called “Promoting Your Cause Online: a Working Smarter Webinar, Building Community Through the Web.” It is a product of Greater Giving. More about the webinar:

At this webinar, you will learn:

• How to determine your organization’s online promotional priorities
• How to align promotional needs with the appropriate sites and tools
• How to evaluate and best leverage available resources
• How to determine when to outsource and what to keep in-house
• How to evaluate return on investment

Promoting Your Cause Online will take place on:

Wednesday, April 28, 2010 (9-10 a.m. Pacific; 10-11 a.m. Mountain; 11a.m-12 p.m. Central; 12-1 p.m. Eastern) and, as I mentioned, it’s free. You can register here.

As for leading a webinar, gotomeeting.com seems to have some invaluable resources, as well as a free trial run offer.

From Lobbying101s to activist meetings, webinars might very well be part of the future of animal advocacy.

(Plus, you get to say “webinar”.)
