Creative Online Activism

Last week I told you about Jasmin’s opening speech at the inspiring Let Live Conference. Another workshop co-presented by Jasmin — along with Liberation B.C.‘s Glenn Gaetz — entitled “Creative Online Activism” has also been posted, and you can watch it below. The workshop, which certainly taught me a thing or five, covers everything from tips and tricks for effectively using the main social networking tools, to how to blog, podcast, and find your own activist voice. Incidentally, Glenn — along with his partner, Joanne — joined us on our most recent podcast episode, so check that out too.

Thanks for posting this, Jasmin! My apologies for not being good with microphones – but there’s definitely some good info here. If anyone has any questions about what I was talking about feel free to get in touch by email (glenn@liberationbc.org), twitter, or facebook.
I still can’t believe how much information we packed into one session. I think next year’s Let Live should include a session on making videos.

Well, it was Mariann who posted this — not me. She both flatters and embarrasses me! But yes — it was definitely a dense workshop! And I think a workshop on making short videos would be great, and I think you should give a workshop on Twitter! If you ever want to work with me on leading a virtual workshop, let me know… that could be fun!!

Whoops! I could have seen that if I’d actually read that little bit up there. I’m going to say it’s a result of me getting old and I don’t see as well as I used to…
