Welcome to the 40th podcast episode of Our Hen House, featuring guests Jamey Scott, Eddie Garza, and Julie Rothman.
In today’s episode, we come to you from Dallas, Texas, where Mariann is busy with her Animal Law Committee, and Jasmin is prancing around town trying to find the city’s best vegan hotspots. She didn’t have to look far: Turns out Dallas is home to a local Mercy for Animals chapter, Dallas Vegan Drinks, and a brand new event that will knock your socks off: The Texas State Veggie Fair! Lucky for us, Vegan Drinks and the Veggie Fair are both happening during our short trip, and we’ll give you the lowdown on those.
Joining us today is Jamey Scott, the creator of Dallas Vegan Drinks and the Texas State Veggie Fair, and the man currently behind DallasVegan.com. Jamey will tell us all about animal activism and the vegan scene down here in Dallas.
For our review section, we will give you the scoop on The Spiral Diner, a 100% vegan diner with two locations in the Dallas area. Joining us for our review are some very special friends — Jamey Scott, as well as Eddie Garza and Julie Rothman from Mercy for Animals here in Dallas. Eddie will also give us the vegan skinny on food activism in Texas. As a bonus review — since we simply could not resist — we will also be reviewing a raw vegan cafe in Dallas, appropriately called Bliss.
All that, some vegan banter, and of course, tons of current events from the world of animal rights.
