In today’s episode, we discuss our aspirations to be minimalists, the horror and unsustainability of cheap clothes, ignorant doctors, orthorexia among certain vegan subsets, a theatre production focusing on loneliness in a world that doesn’t recognize nontraditional connections, and the latest happenings regarding ag-gag laws.
Joining us today is Joshua Katcher, of The Discerning Brute and the vegan men’s fashion line, Brave GentleMan. Joshua, a true fashion icon, is joining us today to dissect the fur industry. In this in-depth, eye-opening examination of one of the cruelest exploitative industries out there, Joshua will refute absurd claims of fur being eco-friendly, talk about the future of faux fur, lament about the current-day anti-fur movement, and eloquently point out inaccuracies touted by the fur industry’s spokespeople.
All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.
Two things of note:
- Don’t miss Jasmin’s NYC book reading, where she’ll be participating in a reading from the anthology, Defiant Daughters, which is being released this week. She will be reading from her chapter, “Found Art, Found Hope,” at Bluestockings Bookstore in NYC, on March 22 at 7:00 p.m., alongside Carol Adams, Kate Larson, Lagusta Yearwood, and Vidushi Sharma. All profits from Defiant Daughters benefit Our Hen House!
- Mariann is getting even older — really, really soon! — and she is doing a fundraiser for Our Hen House as her birthday wish! We hope you’ll join us in making her birthday wishes come true, by donating whatever you can to her campaign.
