Welcome to the 225th episode of Our Hen House, featuring Laura Theodore [transcript] and Elizabeth Castoria [transcript].

On today’s episode, Jasmin has a very big announcement to make about a massive new project she’s taking on. Plus, we will chat about whether we’re betraying vegankind by being sick; why Ellen no longer has a vegan landing page on her website; and the many different opinions people have about vegan meats. We have lots of “Rising Anxieties” today, too, so hold onto your tofu.

Joining us today is Laura Theodore — the Jazzy Vegetarian herself — who will talk to us about everything from how to make your vegan meal not only taste delectable, but look sensational, to some very simple tips for anyone who wants to create a delicious vegan meal in a jiffy. Laura will also give us the inside scoop about her professional singing career, and how that plays a role in our outreach, and she’ll squawk with us about a brand new book, too, for which she’s a contributor. It’s called The China Study All-Star Collection: Whole Food, Plant-Based Recipes from Your Favorite Vegan Chefs.

Speaking of new books, also joining us today is Elizabeth Castoria, whose brand new book, How to Be Vegan, was just released this week, and Elizabeth will give us the skinny on it — including a discussion on how to handle combative people who want nothing more than to push us down.

All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.
