By Alessandra Seiter — June 13, 2014

13Hello, fantastic Flock!

You may know me — Alessandra — from my roles as Hen Press Coordinator and Contributing Writer for Our Hen House, or perhaps even from my blog, Farmers Market Vegan. Now, I’m thrilled to introduce myself as OHH’s Summer Intern. For the next three months, I’ll be hanging with the Hens in Brooklyn

I'll admit, I'm a teensy bit jealous you get to walk Rose. What a sweet looking pup! Love the idea of intersectionality. Never heard that word before, but I love it! Look forward to seeing what else you post as you continue your education! :)

An internship wiht OHH?! How exciting! Hope you're having a blast, Alessandra. :)It's interesting to see all of these issues intersect with each other once you start to learn more about them. Makes me wonder why we do what we do to each other, other groups, and non-human animals. Does it start as collective idea from a group as a whole? Leading to individuals accepting that and following suit or is it the other way around? Maybe it's a bit of both...

Welcome, Alessandra! OHH is lucky to have you! I love that so many new vegans and animal rights activists are speaking out about the importance of intersectionality & supporting other social justice movements.
