Welcome to the 297th episode of Our Hen House, featuring Hannah Sentenac from Latest Vegan News, and a discussion about elephants (in honor of National Elephant Appreciation Day) with Alessandra Seiter. As always, the Our Hen House podcast is co-hosted by us — Jasmin Singerand Mariann Sullivan.
On today’s episode, we discuss being ill-prepared for hosting parties (IOW: getting way, waaaaayyyy too much food!); the joys of Sweet Earth Natural Foods‘ vegan bacon; Our Hen House’s new video Coming Out for Animals, in which LGBT activists squawk about how they found their way to animal advocacy; the importance of allies; why we Hens are feeling so anxious and depressed, and how we cling to hope as a strategy to get us out of this funk; and (newsflash!) why using plastic is HORRID (we love you, Jeff Bridges!).
Our feature interview today is with Hannah Sentenac from Latest Vegan News, who will be the antidote for our depression with her indefatigably positive approach to the “latest vegan news” that she will share with all of us.
Then, the always charming (and now 21-year-old!) Alessandra Seiter, of the blog Chickpeas and Change, will be telling us stories and giving us facts about elephants, in honor of National Elephant Appreciation Day, which is coming up on September 22.
All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights. There’s a ton of Rising Anxieties today, too — so hold onto your seitan. The Our Hen House podcast is co-hosted by us — Jasmin Singer and Mariann Sullivan.
