Episode 364: Allison Rivers Samson & Michelle Cehn, Julian Nicholson, and Atania Gilmore

By Jasmin and Mariann — December 31, 2016

Michelle Cehn and Allison Rivers Samson

Welcome to the 364th episode of Our Hen House!

In this final episode of 2016, Our Hen House gives you even more reasons to celebrate the work of activists for animals. Mariann interviews Allison Rivers Samson and Michelle Cehn about their 12-day Dairy Detox program that will help everyone live and love the dairy-free life. They also share tips on how to make vegan living enticing and fun!

Jasmin has two guests! First up is Julian Nicholson of Jacob’s Ridge sanctuary in Murcia, Spain. You can walk, talk, and squawk with the animals at this vacation destination. Then we’ll hear from Atania Gilmore about the newly re-opened Allie’s Vegan Pizzeria & Cafe in Spokane, Washington, where creative pizzas (including mac ‘n’ cheese pizza) are always on the menu! Field trip, anyone?

And of course, Mariann covers News and Rising Anxieties!

As always, the award-winning weekly Our Hen House podcast is hosted by Mariann Sullivan and Jasmin Singer.

This episode is brought to you in part through the generosity of A Well-Fed World. A Well-Fed World is a hunger relief and animal protection organization chipping away at two of the world’s most immense, unnecessary and unconscionable forms of suffering… the suffering of people hungry from lack of food, and the suffering of animals used and abused for food. Mending our unjust food system is a critical part of solving the world’s most destructive and persistent problems. Fortunately, the plant-based foods that promote health and well-being are the same foods that conserve resources to better feed the world, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and protecting the environment. A Well-Fed World provides the means for change by empowering individuals, social justice organizations, and political decision makers to embrace the benefits of plant-based foods and farming.
