We could all learn a thing or two from 7-year-old Aariyanne Billimoria, a student in Mumbai who organized an art exhibit to raise money for animal rights. The exhibit raised RS 51,000 (approximately $1133 US dollars), and every last painting was sold. According to The Times of India, young Aarivanne learned to paint from her father, an “ardent animal activist.” Good old dad stated that for the last month, his budding activist “worked hard to paint various animal art themes.”
This is one inspirational kid (and kudos to her dad, too, for being a stellar role model). Her story really brings into focus the power of combining art with advocacy, and teaming that up with raising money for a good cause. I mean really… if a 1st-grader can do it…
