Interdisciplinary Humanities, which is the journal of the Humanities and Education Research Association, has an interesting call for papers out for its Spring, 2013 issue. The theme of the issue is “Restorying Nature: The Voices of the Natural World” and will be “dedicated to understanding relationships between humans and the natural world through the mediation of stories, legends, artworks, and other cultural products.”
I like the fact that they specifically state that their “interdisciplinary and intercultural emphasis naturally partners with the humanities and other traditional disciplines as well as with environmental and ecofeminist studies, Animal Studies with its interdisciplinary emphasis, and Human-Animals Relations.” It makes me feel like Animal Studies is really taking off as a respected field of scholarship.
