Welcome to the 143rd episode of Our Hen House, featuring Colleen Patrick-Goudreau.
In today’s episode, we talk about the USDA’s decision to approve tofu as a meat substitute for school lunches (and we kvetch about some people’s confusion about whether or not that’s a good thing. Here’s a hint: it is). We also discuss the pros and cons of referring to plant-based milk as “milk,” we share the good news of a contest we won this past week that resulted in tons of people learning about animal agriculture, we ruminate on the importance of seeing the good in people, we squawk about Jasmin’s running – and whether it can be explicitly tied to veganism, we update you on Mariann’s animal law class happenings, and we share stories of some of the animals we met at the Oregon Humane Society.
Joining us today is the fabulous Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, whose new project, The 30 Day Vegan Challenge, is about as exciting, useful, and innovative as you get. Colleen will tell us all about this latest brainchild of hers, and she’ll share with us her thoughts on how people who are already vegan can encourage those we love to follow suit. That, and a whole lot more from a true Queen of Vegan Advocacy.
For our review, we’ll let you in on some of our favorite skin care products from our bathroom cabinet. Here’s a teaser: One of us uses a whole lot of these products, and the other uses nothing. Can you guess who does what?
All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.
