Welcome to the 168th episode of Our Hen House, featuring Dr. Will Tuttle.

In today’s episode, we’ll tell you about a huge anti-circus demonstration we attended in Brooklyn, and we’ll talk about the unexpected power of grassroots activism like this. We’ll also report back on the launch party and New York City book reading for Defiant Daughters, a new anthology for which Jasmin is a contributor – and the royalties of which benefit Our Hen House. This will lead us into a discussion about feminism and veganism, where the two collide, communicate, and possibly differ. We’ll also chat about the real cost of cheap fashion, and we’ll ruminate on the similarities between certain so-called “solutions” for over-consumption of stuff, with that of the quote-unquote “humane” meat movement.

Joining us today is Will Tuttle, author, activist, musician, and do-gooder. Will will discuss with us the ideas he set in motion when he wrote The World Peace Diet; what he means by the “circle of compassion”; why he thinks we are all pre-vegans and post-vegans; and a whole lot more. Don’t miss this unique interview with a longtime animal activist and all around incredible (and incredibly inspiring!) person.

For our review, we’ll give you our thoughts on three new (or at least new to us) plant-based meats and veggie burgers: Beyond Meat, the Health is Wealth Sprout Burger, and Asherah’s Gourmet.

All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.

Plus, we offer some fantastic thank you gifts for your donations. Thank you for helping us to create quality content, and for helping us to bring you a new, hour-long (and then some) podcast episode each week!
