Welcome to the 17th podcast episode of Our Hen House, featuring special guests Paul Shapiro and Kelly Overton.
In today’s episode, we will begin by talking about some strong new vegans, as well as some artistic ones … .
Joining us today is Paul Shapiro, Senior Director of The Humane Society of the United States’ End Factory Farming campaign. Paul will talk about everything from the latest from the Ohio anti-confinement ballot initiative, to how he – a long-time vegan and animal rights activist – avoids activist burnout.
In our news section, we will report on some animal news about Goldman Sachs, and the implications it has for China. We will also share some muy bien news right from Our Hen House.
Our second guest today will be Kelly Overton, Executive Director of People Protecting Animals and their Habitats (PATH). Kelly is currently stationed on the Gulf of Mexico and is preparing to assist in efforts to rescue animals at risk because of the oil spill. We will hear Kelly’s thoughts about British Petrolium, and he will let us know how we can help the situation down there, right from home.
Finally, we will discuss the results of our Facebook survey where we asked you to tell us your favorite quote.
You can listen to our podcast directly on our blog (below!) or you can subscribe on iTunes. Also, if you like what you hear, please rate it on iTunes, and don’t forget to leave us a friendly comment! Thanks!

Also, for those of you in NYC, MooShoes will be donating 10% of all in-store sales on Saturday, May 8th and Sunday May 9th to PATH. They will also provide customers with an additional 5% off of your purchase if you donate any of the desperately needed supplies that PATH is requesting.
