Podcast: Play in new window

MV5BMTYzNjY2OTYzM15BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNzM2Njg0Mw@@._V1._SX214_CR0,0,214,314_Welcome to the 189th episode of Our Hen House, featuring Emily Deschanel [transcript], with a review by Bianca Phillips.
On today’s episode, we talk about taptivism, the sadness, and cuteness, inherent in bulldog puppies, and our identity crisis. We’ll also entertain you with the latest in a hopeful segment we like to call, “Rising Anxieties.”
Joining us today is Emily Deschanel, the star of the hit TV show “Bones,” now in its 9th season on Fox. Emily will chat with us about what it’s like to celebrate her 20 year veganversary, including how the world has changed since she first ditched animal products. She’ll also talk about how she gets animal rights messages onto “Bones,” how her co-workers have reacted to her veganism, and she’ll even let us in on some things to expect this coming season. Emily will walk us through a day of her favorite food. We’ll also ruminate about fair-trade chocolate, being normal, childhood memories, and honeymoons. Don’t miss this interview with one of our favorite actors of all time.
TheTexasChainSawMassacre-posterFor our review, we are excited to welcome Bianca Phillips, from “Vegan Crunk,” who will give us her take on the original version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre – from, get this, an animal rights perspective. (Yep.)
All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.

You can listen to our podcast directly on our blog (below!) or you can listen and subscribe on iTunes! Also, if you like what you hear, please rate it on iTunes, and don’t forget to leave us a friendly comment! Of course, we would be thrilled if you would also consider making a donation, or becoming a member of our flock (especially if you’re a regular listener). Any amount is hugely appreciated, and Our Hen House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so it’s tax-deductible! You can also dedicate a podcast episode! Don’t forget – we’re reader and listener supported. Plus, we offer some fantastic thank you gifts for your donations. Thank you for helping us to create quality content, and for helping us to bring you a new, hour-long (and then some) podcast episode each week!
