Welcome to the 190th episode of Our Hen House, featuring Father Frank Mann [transcript], with special guest Laura George [transcript], and a review by Ari Solomon.
In today’s episode, we’ll revisit last week’s contentious discussion about purebred dogs, and address some of the passionately felt comments we received. We’ll also ruminate about our trip to visit non-vegan family and the challenges inherent in that, and we’ll tell you about our visit to one of Bill Clinton’s favorite restaurants.
We have two very special interviews to bring you today. First, for our feature interview, we’ll talk to Father Frank Mann – a Roman Catholic priest from Queens, New York who will tell about his recent epiphany about animals, on the road to Long Island. He will also share his insights about the role of animals in Catholicism.
Then, we’ll chat with Laura George, the founder of Coming Home Sanctuary, who will tell us about the horror of Kapparot, and the beauty of chickens – one in particular, actually; a very special guy who will steal your heart.
For our review, Our Hen House’s reviewer Ari Solomon will join us to give his take on the brand new documentary, Speciesism, by Mark Devries – which promises that you’ll never look at animals the same way again (especially humans).
All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.
