As some of you may know, my beloved grandma, who has appeared many times on the Our Hen House podcast, passed away this past week. I’m sure you can imagine what a hard time this has been, especially as Mariann and I, along with my mother and step-father, sat vigil by her side for the 8 days leading up to her death. As a result, we were not able to produce a regular Our Hen House podcast episode this week. Instead, we decided to produce a tribute episode to Grandma, including all of her interviews from our show; an audio recording (by me) of the article Grandma wrote, not even a year ago, for the Our Hen House online magazine, entitled, “Never Too Late to Change the World: Why I Became a Vegetarian at Age 86“; an interview I did with Grandma in 2009, for Storycorps, where she shared her incredible life story; and a recording of Grandma singing her rendition of “My Way.” I hope that you listen, as Sherrey Glickman was an exceptional woman. She will be sorely missed. Her memory will live on, as will her legacy.
As always, you can listen to the Our Hen House podcast right here on our online magazine, as well as through iTunes and through Stitcher.
