Welcome to the 213th episode of Our Hen House, featuring Mayim Bialik [transcript], with a special review by Michael Suchman and Ethan Ciment.
In today’s episode, we come to you from our brand new Brooklyn digs, currently full to bursting with cardboard boxes – but it has a backyard, so we’ll stop complaining. We’ll confess the addictive substance we’ve introduced into our lives, and we’ll talk about which plant-based milk froths the best. We’ll chat about why new directions in animal law must include a discussion about veganism, and we’ll share with you the latest in animal ag’s “Rising Anxieties.” This includes stories of angry vivisectors, and misled bakery owners.
Hold onto your vegan cupcakes, because joining us today is Mayim Bialik, star of CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory,” and author of Mayim’s Vegan Table: More Than 100 Great-Tasting and Healthy Recipes from My Family to Yours — coming out this week. Mayim will talk to us about what it’s like raising vegan kids, how to cook for yourself (let alone a family) when you’re a busy person, how Judaism and veganism intersect for her, and her impetus for being vegan.
Then, for our review, the Vegan Mos boys – Ethan Ciment and Michael Suchman – will give us the full skinny on Mayim’s Vegan Table – including what recipe they think should be re-named “Bialik Balls.”
All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.
