Welcome to the 214th episode of Our Hen House, featuring Veggie Grill founders T.K. Pillan and Kevin Boylan [transcript], with a special review by Danielle Legg.
In today’s episode, we’ll squawk about the talk we gave at Vassar on 10 tips to embracing veganism, and the tempeh tacos we had afterwards that would seal the deal for just about anyone. We moved to Brooklyn last week, and we’ll give you the skinny on how things are transpiring – including which nearby vegan restaurant has the best salsa on earth (it’s available wholesale, y’all). We’ll also chat about a conversation on NPR about fur and leather that left us feeling both hopeful and perplexed; we’ll follow up on how business owners might want to handle fur-wearers coming into their stores; and we’ll share our thoughts on the big news of the week, the killing of Marius the giraffe in Copenhagen. We’ll also ramble about Woody Allen, two annoying reporters over in the U.K., and theatre. And, of course, we’ll bring you our favorite from this week’s “Rising Anxieties.”
Joining us today are two of the founders of the vegan chain restaurant, Veggie Grill – T.K. Pillan and Kevin Boylan. They spill the beans on what major restaurant they hope to follow in the footsteps of, they share with us their feelings on how to market a vegan restaurant so that it appeals to the mainstream, and they let us in on their feelings on plant-based meats.
For our review, Our Hen House’s Danielle Legg is giving us the inside scoop of how to make your nails look pretty, the vegan way.
