Welcome to the 250th episode of Our Hen House, featuring Sharon Gannon and Alessandra Seiter.
On today’s very special 250th episode, we chat about where veganism has come since we started recording five years ago, and where we see it going. Speaking of time markers, it’s Jasmin’s birthday this week, and we expect you to be as excited as she is — we’ll talk about that, too. We’ll give you the skinny on our experiences talking last week at Chicago VeganMania, and we’ll ruminate on a rather disappointing talk we attended here in Brooklyn on “craftivism.” Plus, since you can’t seem to get enough, today we give an extra dose of Rising Anxieties!
Joining us for our 250th episode is one of our heroes, Sharon Gannon, creator of the Jivamukti Yoga Method and long-time animal rights activist, author, musician, dancer, and poet. Sharon will blow your mind with her refreshing take on activism and veganism, and she’ll open our taste buds when she gives us a glimpse into her newest book, Simple Recipes for Joy.
Then, Our Hen House’s own Alessandra Seiter — of Farmer’s Market Vegan fame — will be getting us ready for Halloween with her take on animal rights themed costumes.
All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.
