Welcome to the 254th episode of Our Hen House, featuring Piper Hoffman, with a review by Ari Solomon, plus a special appearance by Karen Dawn.
In today’s episode, Mariann and I will let you know what it’s like to be back in the TV studio again shooting Our Hen House TV — a co-production with Brooklyn Independent Media. We’ll give you a glimpse into the first episode of Season 2, including who the guests were. We’ll tell you how we brought the international scope of animal rights right here to Brooklyn. And we’ll ruminate on the effect of one crew member who wondered how meat is made. We will also vent about why it gets our (rescued) goat when people tell us that they love animals. And we’ll give you lots of Rising Anxieties, of course; ’tis the season, after all.
In light of Thanksgiving, we’ll be chatting with writer and media powerhouse Karen Dawn, who will tell us all about the two turkeys she will be having this Thanksgiving — having as houseguests, that is. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to get to know two very lucky birds; be sure to take notes on how anyone who cares about animals — that means you! — can make a media splash this holiday season.
Then, joining us is pundit Piper Hoffman, who will be giving us the skinny on a panel she attended all about food ethics. As if that weren’t enough to chew on, Ari Solomon will also be joining us today, giving us the lowdown on the recent Vegan Oktoberfest he attended.
All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.
