Welcome to the 279th episode of Our Hen House, featuring an interview with Rich Roll and Julie Platt, a review by Ethan Ciment and Michael Suchman, and special appearances by Laura Gardner, Joel Capolongo, Michael Harren, and Matt Ruscigno.
On today’s episode, we will tell you all about Jasmin’s upside-down weekend spent with 36 vegan runners as they divided into three teams and ran 200 miles across Cape Cod. The event went through the night — lasting just about 30 hours for Jasmin’s team — and of course Jasmin had her mic on hand. We’ll get snippets of stories from a few of Jasmin’s fellow runners and comrades, including geneticist Laura Gardner, Strong Hearts Cafe restaurant owner Joel Capolongo, musician Michael Harren, and Registered Dietician Matt Ruscigno. And, as a special addition to this week’s “Rising Anxieties” segment, Jasmin will squawk about how some of her 7,000 running peers reacted to her team’s vegan message-wear.
For our feature interview today, we’ll talk to ultrarunner Rich Roll, and his partner Julie Piatt, who are the authors of the new book, The PlantPower Way. Rich and Julie will interweave their thoughts on nutrition with their deeply held worldview, and how they bridge the gap with what they eat.
And for our review, our good friends Ethan Ciment and Michael Suchman, the guys who make up the fabulous Vegan Mos, will be giving us their take on The PlantPower Way, including their insights on which recipes are an absolute must-try.
All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.
