Welcome to the 296th episode of Our Hen House, featuring Che Green from Faunalytics, an update from activist Amber Canavan, and a discussion about cats — in honor of National Pet Memorial Day — with Alessandra Seiter. As always, the Our Hen House podcast is co-hosted by us — Jasmin Singer and Mariann Sullivan.
On today’s episode, we squawk about the veganization of New Jersey, the relaunch of Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary, and when non-vegans want to make vegans look bad. There’s tons of “Rising Anxieties” (aaaaaahhhhh!) today, too.

Joining us for Episode 296 (egad! 296!) is Che Green from Faunalytics (formerly the Humane Research Council), who will discuss the work of his organization, which provides the world’s largest library of opinion and behavior research about animals.

Activist Amber Canavan will join us too, for a much anticipated update. Amber was recently released from Sullivan County Jail, where she was serving a sentence related to her rescue of two ducks from Hudson Valley Foie Gras.

Alessandra got another tattoo since we squawked with her last week! (It’s by one Maggie Gosselar.)
We’ll also be joined again today by Alessandra Seiter, of the blog Chickpeas & Change. We’ll be talking with Alessandra all about cats — and how they have helped shape our personal attitudes about animal rights — all in honor of National Pet Memorial Day.
All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights. The Our Hen House podcast is co-hosted by us — Jasmin Singer and Mariann Sullivan.

The Our Hen House theme song is written and sung by the incredible Michael Harren. Special thanks to OHH Media Coordinator Alessandra Seiter for acting as the Associate Producer of the Our Hen House podcast, and huge props to OHH’s Director of Operations, Anne Green, and to our audio editor, Eric Milano, of Love Loft Studios.
Let’s get squawking!
