Welcome to the 43rd episode of Our Hen House, featuring Gary Kowalski.
In today’s episode, we will give you our full report on everything from the vegan Halloween party we attended last week, to our dog’s Halloween costume – which lasted all of 2 blocks, to all the wonder of NYC in fall. We’ll also tell you about our newest juice fast!
Joining us today as part of our recurring Religion Series is Gary Kowalski (check out his author’s page on Amazon, as well as his blog). Gary currently serves as the interim minister to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and has written a number of best selling books on animals and spirituality. Gary will discuss with us how certain principles within Unitarian Universalism foster concern for other species, and how our spiritual beliefs can influence the way we treat animals – including through our diets.
For our review section, we will share our experiences with the much-anticipated new device that is a must for every kitchen, the TofuXpress.
All that, some vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.
This week’s news items include:
- “Article of Faith” from The New York Times
- “Victory Declared for Missouri’s Dogs and Arizona Wildlife” from The Huffington Post
- “Giving Thanks for Vegetables, Not Turkey” from The New York Times Blog
- “Janet Jackson’s Vegan Favorites” from The Tonight Show, by way of Vegan.com
