Podcast: Play in new window

Welcome to the fifth podcast episode of Our Hen House!

In today’s very special Valentine’s Day episode, we give you the low-down on cruelty-free aphrodisiacs, lesbian albatrosses, and what it means to be a vegansexual.

We also start two different series which we hope will be on-going: the new vegan series, where we interview someone who just recently joined the vegan team, and the spirituality series, where we have individuals share their own personal insights about how their beliefs inform their activism and veganism. Today, we’ll be talking to new vegan, Paula Burke, and Buddhist animal activist, Casey Martinson (from The Daily Return).

Then, we will discuss some big news in the media: the piece on CBS news covering the use of antibiotics in factory farms, as well as the new rules for organic standards as they relate to animal care. Plus, we’ll tell you about a movie that we just can’t wait to see …

Finally, we will review our favorite chocolates – just in time for Valentine’s Day.

You can listen to our podcast directly on our blog (below!), or you can subscribe on iTunes.
