Welcome to the 70th episode of Our Hen House, featuring Dr. Alka Chandna.
In today’s episode, we will tell you about the vegan happenings in our world. We’ll talk with our genius intern, Nick Laccetti, about a class he attended on religion that incorporated animal rights material. We’ll give you our thoughts on Mother’s Day, and we’ll let you in on our meeting with the kind folks over at From A to Vegan.
Joining us today is Alka Chandna, the Laboratory Oversight Specialist for PETA. Alka will talk to us about her work fighting vivisection, why this is such a difficult area of animal protection advocacy, and why the laws are ineffective in protecting these animals. She’ll also tell us about some successful campaigns she’s been a part of, as well as her own inspiring story of how her parents’ activism led to her own.
For our review, we’ll tell you all about the book, Garlic-Onion-Beet-Spinach-Mango-Carrot-Grapefruit Juice, by Nathalie VanBalen.
All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.
