Welcome to the 84th episode of Our Hen House, featuring Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, with a special appearance from Jasmin’s 87-year-old veg grandma, Sherrey Glickman.
In today’s episode, we will ruminate on everything from animal rights poetry to an offensive t-shirt someone was wearing on the subway, as well as share our thoughts on Holocaust comparisons. We’ll also play for you a laugh-out-loud funny message that Jasmin’s mom left for her regarding the film, Planet of the Apes, which – incidentally – we loved.
Joining us today is vegan author and inspirational speaker, Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, of Compassionate Cooks. Colleen will give us the vegan skinny on everything from her newest book – The 30 Day Vegan Challenge – to her feelings about using the word “fake” to describe vegan meats. You won’t want to miss this enlightening, powerful interview by one of our movement’s favorite people.
For our review, we’ll be joined by yet another extra special guest – Jasmin’s 87-year-old veg grandma – who will discuss with us the documentary, Project Nim, which tells the story of the chimpanzee, Nim, who became the focus of a landmark experiment in the 1970’s. The film was jarring and eye-opening. Don’t miss Grandma’s insights.
All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.
