Welcome to the 89th episode of Our Hen House, featuring Carolyn Merino Mullin from the National Museum of Animals & Society.
In today’s episode, we give you our thoughts about a vegan art show we attended, and a workshop that Jasmin co-led for Mercy for Animals entitled “Commonality of Oppression.”
Joining us today is Carolyn Merino Mullin, founder and executive director of the National Museum of Animals & Society, which employs traditional museum stratagems in achieving its mission: to enrich the lives of animals and people through exploration of our shared experience. Carolyn will tell us about the role that animal issues play in the museum movement, and will explain the process of bringing her brainchild – this one of a kind museum – to life.
For our review, we’ll give you our take on the latest book by powerhouse Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, The 30-Day Vegan Challenge (buy it here).
All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.
This week’s news items include:
- “West Hollywood to Ban Sale of Fur Garments” from The New York Times
- “No Justice for Animals” from The Huffington Post
- “SeaWorld trainers told to use caution with whale” from Associated Press
“When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.” -John Muir
