Episode 90: “Do what you feel in your heart to be right, for you’ll be criticized anyway.”

Welcome to the 90^th episode of Our Hen House, featuring vegan bodybuilder Robert Cheeke.

In today’s episode, we’ll give you our thoughts on an event we attended that featured Frances Moore Lappe. (Let’s just say that we’re probably in the minority with our feelings about it.) We’ll also ruminate on everything from juicing to traveling, and we’ll tell you about Jasmin’s brother’s inadvertent food activism (hint: try Brody’s Bakery immediately). We’ll also get you up to speed on our upcoming squawking engagements.

Joining us today is vegan bodybuilder Robert Cheeke, who will talk to us about what it takes to be a fit, vegan athlete. You won’t want to miss this one-of-a-kind interview, where Robert talks about everything from protein to exercise, with more than a touch of activism throughout.

For our review, we’ll tell you about The Whale, the new documentary by Michael Parfit and Suzanne Chisholm that tells the true story of Luna, a young wild orca who lost his family and tried to make friends with people.

All that, vegan banter, and of course, current events from the world of animal rights.

This week’s news items include:

• “O Celebrates Feel-Good, Animal-Friendly Fashion” from O, The Oprah Magazine
• “The Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act Sets an Unusual Standard for Crime” from The Wall Street Journal
• “Going After Dairy, Big Time” from Our Hen House
