Wow. This blog entry from Adam Weitzenfeld over at H.E.A.L.T.H. (Humans, Earth, and Animals Living Together Harmoniously) is one of the most useful compilations of resources on critical animal studies that we’ve ever seen. And it also contains a succinct and comprehensible synopsis of how critical animal studies is seen to differ from, and/or relate to, the field of human/animal studies.
The compilation includes a variety of resources for teachers and/or scholars, as well as journals, online communities, academic programs — you name it. As is made clear by this list, it’s really becoming difficult to keep up with the explosion of academic interest regarding animals and the roles that they play in our lives. Kudos to Adam for shedding light and bringing order, as well as for his commitment to regularly update the list. If you can’t find something to interest you in this compilation, you’re just not trying.
