Pictured: Jasmin’s birthday from prehistoric days.
Today—October 30, 2019—I am turning 40. Along with Mariann Sullivan, I started Our Hen House 10 years ago because I wanted to co-create a hub for anyone who wants to change the world for animals. One of our first supporters was excited about the idea but concerned that we would run out of guests to feature on the Our Hen House podcast. Well, today marked our 510th (consecutive weekly) episode—and our 53rd consecutive monthly Animal Law Podcast, and we’re going strong. Our biggest problem, quite honestly, is having too many amazing guests to choose from—those on the front lines of changing the world for animals.
Not only is today my birthday, but it’s also kicking off our end-of-year matching campaign, meaning that between now and December 31, your donations will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $15,000! This is thanks to a small group of supporters called our Barnyard Benefactors.
If you want to celebrate my birthday with me—and if you want to show your support for responsible, pro-animal, vegan media—I hope you will consider making a tax-deductible donation today. Any amount is hugely appreciated, but I do suggest that you join the flock and take advantage of some of those fantastic perks, such as bonus content and the opportunity to join our private and vibrant “flock-only” Facebook page. Thank you heaps and tons
If you like Our Hen House, if you believe in our mission to effectively mainstream the movement to end the exploitation of animals, if you find community and solace in our shows and resources, and if you believe in the change-making power of indie media, please make a donation today. It will be the best birthday present ever.
