Dear Darling Flock,
Because of loyal supporters like you, Our Hen House has empowered countless activists to change the world for animals. #PRIVATE#As an integral part of our inner circle, we want to give you the inside scoop on this exciting breaking news FIRST before it’s released to the public: We’re taking Our Hen House to the next level and officially rolling out a Donor Challenge in the coming weeks (Egad! This is so exciting!).
Thanks to a small group of generous individuals we call our “Barnyard Benefactors,” all donations (including recurring monthly donations) will be matched dollar-for-dollar between September 15 and December 31 up to $10,000. In other words, donations from now until December 31 will be doubled! During this Donor Challenge, we hope you will consider increasing your support of our life-changing and, ultimately, life-saving work to help us double our impact. After four years, Our Hen House is bigger and stronger than ever, but without funding, none of this would exist.
Please, if you are able, donate now. (And yes, we are still offering awesome thank-you gifts!)
Thank you for all that you are able to do. It means so much to me – to all of us – to have you in our corner.

P.S. One more thing! Those of you who became flock members (as one-time donors of $100 or more, not as recurring monthly donors) in December 2012 — when we first launched the online magazine — will be up for renewal soon! You might be hearing from us (unless you beat us to the punch). Remember, any donation — including flock renewals — between now and December 31 will be doubled up to $10,000!
P.P.S. I feel so lucky to get so many beautiful correspondences from you, Darling Flock. Here’s one of the most recent (used with permission):
There are plenty of resources on why and how to go vegan, but none that empowers people to become vegan ACTIVISTS like Our Hen House. From volunteering at the local shelter to leafleting to protesting to organizing local events in my community, I am doing things I thought were reserved for “outgoing leaders” or “full time activists” — not me. Our Hen House inspired me to go way beyond my comfort zone and actively advocate on behalf of animals. I went from a place of “someone ought to do that” to “I ought to do that,” and for that, I am so grateful!
