Hello, dear Flock Members!
Alessandra here. I’m thrilled to announce the latest in a long line of exciting growth endeavors for Our Hen House. #PRIVATE# Podcast, blog, nonprofit organization, online magazine, and now… publishing house?!? Yes, indeed, we’ve just launched an eBook publishing arm known as Hen Press, with the goal of bringing you the animal rights-related books and essays that you’ve dreamed of reading, but that mainstream publishers have missed out on. Eye-opening and inspiring, the works published by Hen Press have the power to truly change the world for animals.
Hen Press’ first publication is a short eBook entitled The Lines We Draw by civil engineer Sangamithra Iyer. A story about boundaries — physical, biological, and ethical — it evolved out of a conversation with the late Dr. Alfred Prince, a hepatitis researcher, about the use of chimpanzees in medical research, and expanded into a larger discussion about ethics. With plenty of plot twists and jaw-dropping dialogue, The Lines We Draw will keep you turning those virtual pages while simultaneously shedding light on the psychological impacts on both the chimpanzee victims of vivisection and those who experiment on them. This is one eBook you don’t want to miss.
And I’m pleased to let you know that you won’t have to miss it! As one of the many benefits of being an Our Hen House Flock Member, we’re gifting you all a free copy of The Lines We Draw eBook! (Of course, it is also available through on Amazon, iBooks, and Barnes & Noble, if you’d prefer it to be delivered directly to your e-reader.)
We can’t thank you enough for supporting Our Hen House, and now Hen Press. Stay tuned for more information about Hen Press’ future publications and Our Hen House’s continuing expansion (can you say TV show, anyone?).
Warmest of regards,
Alessandra Seiter, Hen Press Coordinator
