If you’re a business owner, why not donate a portion of the sales of your product to your favorite animal rights organization? You can either do this permanently (Daisy Dog Studio donates 5% of all proceeds to PETA), or you can do it as a one-off thing (Loren Brown from the cruelty-free company, Arbonne, is donating 100% of its proceeds to Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary throughout October and November). You can also alternate your monthly giving to the charity of your choice. You can even create a product specifically around an organization you care about, as the vegan candle company, A Scent of Scandal does with their Candles for a Cause.
Most 501(c)(3) animal rights organizations could certainly use the funds, but in addition to that, the cross-promotion entailed in this kind of collaboration is mutually beneficial. For those of you who work in the land of for-profit, giving in this way can be an easy, fast form of activism.
