They tell me that my birthday is in one week. I will, it seems, be turning 33 on October 30. And I have decided to create a birthday fundraiser to celebrate the occasion. In honor of my grandmother’s fascination with this year’s double digits (she’s 88, I’m turning 33, my uncle is turning 66 — you get the idea), I have decided to raise $3,333 for Our Hen House. And I’m hoping you will donate $33, $133, more for those of you who can swing it, and less for those of you who can’t.

Thank you to Gena Hamshaw at Choosing Raw (www.choosingraw.com) for making me crave your Vanilla Lemon Ginger Cupcakes (which, yes, is a hint).
This is a big huge year for OHH. As you likely already know, we are soon expanding to an online magazine (egad!) — which will allow us to offer you oodles more multimedia content, including columns, Op-Eds, features, more videos, and, as always, a daily blog and weekly podcast (we are currently in production for our 146th consecutive weekly episode!). There will also be a “This Animal On This Day” photo page ready for your contributions, and an animal rights news ticker. It’s a very exciting expansion for us, and has been a long time in the making!
So, pretty please, click that big orange button.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so your donations are tax-deductible. Also, for those of you who are wondering, donations made through my birthday campaign are not eligible for our thank you gifts (feel free to donate through our website to be eligible for some thank you gifts).
Happy Birthday to me. Let’s change the world for animals.
Thankyouthankyouthankyou.
