My name is Liz Dee, and I am an Our Hen House podcast junkie.
Listening makes my commute, my laundry days, and my workouts breeze by. Sometimes, I’ll add a mile onto my run (OK, my jog) just to keep listening. What can I say? I feel like I’m hanging out with Jasmin and Mariann, talkin’ shop, and concocting a master plan to change the world for animals – little things like that. I just love those two women and their “indefatigably positive,” informative, hilarious podcast, and I know I’m not alone. The hundreds of five-star iTunes ratings and rave reviews speak volumes (quite literally at times!).
A couple months ago, when Jasmin asked me to come on board as the podcast’s Associate Producer, I was floored. Working with Our Hen House felt like a fantasy come to life: I was stepping inside my iPod and landing in a make-believe world of vegan doughnuts, celebrity activists, cutting-edge animal rights news, and moderately inappropriate jokes that make me snarf my brazil nut chai. When Jasmin and Mariann turned out to be as kind and downright fabulous as they come across on their show, I wasn’t the least bit surprised. They are the real deal, and so is Our Hen House.
What Our Hen House offers is an invaluable resource for anyone who wants to change the world for animals – and is seeking a strong, smart, committed community while they’re at it. Our Hen House has inspired and empowered me to do more than I could have ever imagined on behalf of animals, and I am honored to have the opportunity to help this small but powerful organization truly soar. I know that Our Hen House is changing lives, and changing the world. My job is to accelerate that process. To do that, we need your help.
