So you want to support vegan businesses. Who doesn’t? Well, I guess a lot of people don’t even think about that… but the important thing is that we think about it, and the even more important thing is that the more we support vegan businesses, artists, and practitioners, the more demand there will be for their compassionate product. And the more people will think about it.
New World Veg is a new (free!) service that will launch later this month (but you can sign up now). Its goal is to conduct a nationwide search to find vegan entrepreneurs and offer a thorough directory of local businesses owned by, according to New World Veg, “raw foodists, vegans or vegetarians,” as well as local veg restaurants and online veg businesses. In addition to providing a directory, this OMG-where-has-this-been-all-my-life directory will also offer discounts on cruelty-free items, like shoes, vitamins, and even chocolate! (Did you just hear my tummy rumble?) As if that weren’t enough to make one cry with joy, they will also offer exclusive online cooking classes, and webinars with noteworthy authors and speakers.
What a way to gel our community, huh? Create this veg version of the Yellow Pages, and assist the “enlightened” (yeah I said it…) in finding ethically-sourced goods and services. I’m in.
