As the owner of this website (the “Site”), Our Hen House, we understand that your privacy is of critical importance. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect from you via the Site and how we use and disclose such information.

 

OUR USE OF COOKIES

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When we refer to “Personal Information” in this document, we are including Device Information and Contact Information.

a) Device Information

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

b) Contact Information

Additionally we ask you to voluntarily submit information to us when:

  1. If you subscribe to our Newsletter we collect your name and email address.
  2. If you fill out our Contact form we will collect your name, email address, and the content of the message you provide.
  3. If you join as Flock Member, the registration form asks for your Name, Email and a Username and Password.

 We refer to this information as “Contact Information.”

 

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We use the Contact Information that we collect to send you our Newsletter or other Our Hen House communications such as your donation or flock membership.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us improve and optimize our Site and Newsletter (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site and the Newsletter, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

 

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We share your Personal Information, or direct to you provide information, with third parties to help us use your Personal Information.

  1. We use Network for Good as or donor management and fundraising platform. Network for Good has a privacy policy published here: https://www.networkforgood.com/about/privacy-eu/.
  2. We use Google Analytics to analyze the use of our website. Google Analytics gathers information about website use by means of cookies. The information gathered relating to our website is used to create reports about the use of our website.   3. We use Facebook’s integrated comments and Like/Sharing buttons. When you view a webpage on our website, embedded facebook “widgets” will attempt to load, providing Facebook with your IP address, device information and cookies that Facebook may have previously set on your device.  If you are logged into Facebook, this will interact with your user account on Facebook and allow you to make a comment that will display on our website and optionally on your Facebook timeline.   4. Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

 

DATA RETENTION

When you subscribe to the Newsletter, fill out our Contact Form, or create a Flock Member account we will maintain your name, email address and IP address for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information. FOR EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AREA RESIDENTS

If you reside in a country in the European Economic Area (EEA), then under the GDPR and applicable data protection laws you have the rights, among other things, to access your personal data, have us erase it, and/or restrict its further processing. Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill requests you have made (for example sending you the Newsletter), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your Device Information and Contact information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States in order to fulfill delivery of our Newsletter and other Our Hen House communications. Furthermore, you Device Information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States to provide Google Analytics and in communication with our donor management and fundraising platform, Network for Good.

 

CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. The most recent version of the Privacy Policy will always be posted on the Site, with the “Effective Date” posted at the top of the Policy.  If we make any material changes to our Privacy Policy or how we handle your personal information, or we are going to use any personal information in a manner that is materially different from that stated in our Privacy Policy at the time we collected such information, we will give you a reasonable opportunity to consent to the change. If you do not consent, your personal information will be used as agreed to under the terms of the privacy policy in effect at the time we obtained that information. By using our Site or services after the Effective Date, you are deemed to consent to our then-current privacy policy. We will use information previously obtained in accordance with the Privacy Policy in effect when the information was obtained from you.
