Last year, we told you about the Vegetarian Resource Group‘s scholarship program for veg high school students. Well, VRG (which, BTW, just came out with a study citing that a staggering 2.5% of adults in the U.S. are vegan — up from 1% in 2009!) is at it again. They are awarding $10,000 in college scholarship dinero to 2 graduating U.S. high school students who have promoted a plant-based diet in their school or community. The deadline is February 20, so act fast.
If you’re a high school student and you’re reading this, I realize that compassion is your driving force. But this scholarship is a sweet impetus for stepping up your advocacy, and making sure that your fellow students are being reached with the reasons to go vegan and change the world for animals (there are so many countless ways to do that, even if you’re in school).
Do they have a spot in the yearbook for “Most Ethical?” You’ve got that pegged, young friend…
