Way back last February, when we were just wee little chicks, we told you about a one of a kind opportunity for grad students to get funding to pursue a graduate-level project benefiting animals. Well, the Animal Welfare Trust (AWT), the organization behind the grant, is once again seeking applications for their Student Internship Grant Program.
According to their website, AWT “believes that we can make a meaningful contribution to animal welfare by encouraging students to work on projects that facilitate positive reform for animals.” In addition to funding independent student research projects that are, of course, consistent with AWT’s mission statement, this grant may also be used to “provide funding to otherwise unpaid internship positions within established animal-related organizations.”
We happen to know that a recipient of the last round of the Student Internship Grant found out about the opportunity right here in Our Hen House! Let’s keep the tradition going. If you’re in grad school, seize the moment.
Bonus: If you haven’t yet heard AWT founder Brad Goldberg on our podcast, where he talked all about the various grant programs, what are you waiting for?
