So much for thinking that animal rights and vegan media aren’t in the mainstream.
Not only can I not keep up with my Google alerts for those search words, it seems that we are now flirting a bit with swimming in that very mainstream.
I’m gobsmacked, and plain old thrilled to announce that for the second time, the Our Hen House podcast was just named an Official Webby Award Honoree! We were given this honor once before, in 2013, and are so excited to be honored yet again. And did you happen to notice our co-honorees? There’s just four of them, and they are the big guys, y’all, including HBO. How exciting is it to see our podcast — now in its sixth year, and never once missing a week of production — on that very prestigious list?! I’d say that’s a reason to dig into some leftover birthday cake in the fridge, and a glass of bubbly…
I simply love co-hosting the Our Hen House podcast week after week, alongside my better half, Mariann Sullivan (the reason for the leftover birthday cake). And we’re truly honored to work on the show alongside our Media Coordinator Alessandra Seiter, our Director of Operations Anne Green, our Tech Guy Ben Braman, and our roster of amazingly talented reviewers (such as Ari Solomon, Michael and Ethan from Vegan Mos, and film critic Noah Gittell). We’re also truly lucky hens to have the opportunity to interview some of the best movers and shakers out there. This week’s podcast episode will feature Gene Baur, whose new book, Living the Farm Sanctuary Life, is brand new today (Mariann and I are excited to have contributed to the book, too).
And, perhaps needless to say, we are so very grateful to you, our darling flock and our devoted listeners, for keeping vegan indie media alive, and for supporting Our Hen House as we create and produce all media for all animals. This achievement is all of ours.
You have my heart.
