The Coalition to Unchain Dogs is a volunteer-run organization based in North Carolina, Georgia, and DC that is dedicated to freeing dogs living on chains by providing fences for them. With these fences, the dogs have the space they need to run around and play, minus the cruel chains. So far, the Coalition has freed over 500 dogs. In addition to building free fences, Coalition to Unchain Dogs teaches the community about the detrimental effects of chaining — both for the dog as well as the community. They also offer resources to help start free-fencing programs throughout the country, as well as lobby for legislation that would help chained dogs.
This video that captures one dog’s story truly touched my heart. It’s amazing how an entire life can be completely turned around because of the advocacy efforts of volunteers who open their hearts.
