UPDATE — 12/9/2010: THE LOVELY FOLKS AT VEGAN CORNER CONTACTED US AND TOLD US THAT DUE TO SOME TECH ISSUES, THEY NEEDED TO TEMPORARILY SHUT DOWN THE WEBSITE. IT WILL RELAUNCH IN FEBRUARY 2011!
Vegan Corner, which launches today, is a new comprehensive listing of vegan and vegan-friendly businesses worldwide. It offers interactive reviews, listings, and loads of resources. Founded by Nathan and Adriana Pope, Vegan Corner is a way to connect foodies and activists with their favorite, or soon-to-be favorite, compassionate establishments. The website will be home to an extensive list of cruelty-free products, everything from lip balm to cruelty-free cake.
Speaking of cake, here’s the icing: Each month, Vegan Corner will donate 10% its profits to animal charities.
In addition to being giddy with excitement about this new one-stop shop, I so admire Nathan and Adriana for their fortitude in seeing this through. “We started Vegan Corner because we saw an urgent need for an up-to-date vegan business guide that features the newest joints to dine and shop at, as well as favorites that just might be hiding off in a corner somewhere,” Adriana told me. “Vegan Corner will make it easier for people to find both.”
Vegan Corner is obviously a labor of love, something that will truly benefit animals and ethically-minded companies. They are taking full advantage of the glory of the Worldwide Web — and sneaking “vegan” right in the center. So don’t think that you don’t have the means to be a vegan entrepreneur. If you have the vision, executing it is as easy as WWW.
