We hens from Our Hen House live in NYC, and have for a clucking long time — certainly long enough to know where to get smashing deals on scrumptious vegan food, and find out the best way in at some rad cultural happenings around town. So when VegNews asked me to host and produce several upcoming videos for the fabulous VegNews TV, I knew that “NYC Vegan Weekend On a Budget” would have to be my
very first project. I’m elated to tell you that the video was published today, and that it features some of my favorite affordable restaurants and vegan eats (like the spectacular fast food joint, Foodswings), not to mention artsy-fartsy outings for the penny-pincher (MOMA is free on Friday nights, and Brooklyn Botanic Garden is free on Saturday mornings). And, as a bonus, watch for appearances by a few vegan all-stars who I ran into when I was making the video (like Eddie Garza from Mercy for Animals and Leanne Mai-Ly Hilgart of Vaute Couture). I hope you’ll watch this video, spread the word about it, and on your next trip to the Big Apple, use some of my tips! Obviously there are many different ways to have a NYC Vegan Weekend On a Budget — this video explores one possible itinerary. Warning: You will likely be ravenous after watching.
