From time to time, we will be asking some of our favorite animal activists what inspires them, and what irks them. Today we are talking to our buddy, Paul Shapiro (from the HSUS), who is — without question — one of the most articulate, brilliant, and humble animal ambassadors out there.
Our Hen House: Paul darling, what inspires you?
Paul Shapiro: What inspires me is the amazing progress that’s been made for farm animal protection in the last decade, which has only happened because thousands of dedicated animal advocates have worked so tirelessly to campaign on their behalf.
OHH: What irks you?
PS: Of course, even with the tremendous advancements that our movement has made for farm animals in recent years, the road still left to travel is so painfully long. It’s important to remember that this progress isn’t self-executing, and there isn’t an option to just sit by and assume social change will continue simply because of the momentum we’ve built.
